OH. BY THE WAY. I have a SHITLOAD of time on my hands now that it's the holidays. So, I'm gonna be doing some maintenance on all the pages, and I'll probably FINALLY finish this homepage, and remove that UNDER CONSTRUCTION title.

Thats about vampires but they're different in ways, (instead of huge fangs, they have sharp thick nails to make a small, unnoticable cut in the victim) but they still hold all the classic traits, such as they can't go out in the sun, and they have incredible speed / strength. Thats why I liked them, they were different, but they still obeyed the basic vampire rules. I can deal with books like that because they're sort of modern, but good.
Where as Smeyer just...well, she really fucked up didn't she.

I started to read Twilight, got to the sparkly bit, and put it down. I couldn't watch it, it was...horrible. I'd rather watch one of the old cheezy vampire movies, where the blood is just red paint, than watch Twilight, I'd get more entertainment from it.

Oh and [Strawboy] - Thats one of the things that pissed me of most, if he's like over 100 years old, and he's been 17 for that many years, surely someone would see him and think "Hey...I saw you 20 years ago when we were at school together...WTF are you doing as a 17 year old?!"

Meyer rights stuff so much better.' i went 'Riiiiiiiiight (as sarcatically as i could) a series that started in 1987 and is still going strong, with millions of players, thousands of books and a few video game is 'crap' compared to some house wife who probably wrote the dumb story about a vampire to get herself off.' There's a whole bunch of issues just gone about in the wrong way. It's (Twilight) made the negative issues in the book seem okay, or even cool. That's a really disturbing thing. I'm just really surprised I haven't heard of anyone trying to get pregant like Bella, or fall in love with a newborn baby like Jacob. Twilight just makes these things seem okay to the reader, but they're not ok.

I have read all of the first two books, half of the third and watched the first movie. I do plan on seeing the second. No, I'm not a Twi-Tard, I just can't argue against it without reading/watching it now can I? The best argument against this book, bad characterization. Although I hate to talk bad about other authors since I want to be one eventually. I just hope that I can write something of more substance than Twilight.
(I am a Potter fan! Lol. Although LOTR is still the best in my mind)

Oh! For a good Vampire Romance, go read Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward! Now that is some good stuff!!!

I've got a question then, is every movie that is based off a fairytale or book or some other writing shit merely because it is not an original idea? Or is it just M. Night Shamalan's stuff? It's a reasonable question, since you have stated the fact "there is a huge difference between having similarities and just straight up ripping something off". Therefore, shouldn't you hate every movie that is "ripping off" a book or short story? And then we must take into account remakes...are they also shit because they are not original thoughts? Should we not look at HOW they went about portraying the story, through lighting techniques, camera angles, the acting and base our idea of a good or bad movie off of those things?

Anyway, I would have to agree on that point. Those who steal ideas without giving credit aren't genius and shouldn't get credit. I didn't mean for this to be mean hearted or rude either, I just like to debate things. So, anyway, my next thought is that (even though you say it isn't relavent, I feel it ties in and is interesting to think about) there are so many ideas taken that no one gives credit for, even if they're not complete knock offs. I personally like a lot of the Dracula movies but half of them don't give credit to where the idea originated. I'm still not sure myself if I like that or not. I would like to know where the Twilight lady...um, what's her name? Meyer, got the legend idea for the werewolves. I wonder if that was stolen from real life or another story.
